Foxhunting is finding the exact location of wireless emitters and/or their users. Think CIA wet-work ninjas who need to find the right bedroom in the house of the South American Populist Government official they’re there to garrote. Or perhaps, tracking the Corporate Exec whose iphone you've trojaned into an access point as part of a Red Team Pentest. This talk focuses on 802.11, but techniques are applicable to all RF emitters, like cell phones. Foxhunting is useful for distances between the "last mile" and the "last feet"; for greater distances, other techniques are more appropriate

Bio: SimonJ is a wireless communications software and systems engineer with >15 years professional experience. He has spent the majority of his career working on esoteric wireless communications for even-more-esoteric purposes, including RF emitter geolocation. He won both the foxhunting challenges in the WiFi Pentathlon at DEFCON 21 using nothing but an unrooted Android tablet and wants more of a challenge this year.
