Using Technology to Defend Digital Privacy & Human Rights
Tom Eston

@agent0x0 @sharedsec (podcast)

There's no question that we live in a world where digital privacy and human rights are violated by powerful corporations, governments, and nation states. Oppressed citizens, journalists, human rights activists and others have been challenged by advancements in technology that prevent their ability to share information, report human rights violations and communicate with the rest of the world. In this talk, we will discuss the importance of digital privacy in today's world and the latest technology and tools available that can be used to defend your digital privacy on the Internet.

Tom Eston is the Manager of Penetration Testing at Veracode. His work over the years has focused on security and privacy research as well as network, red team, and application penetration testing. He has lead multiple projects in the cybersecurity community, improved industry standard testing methodologies and is a experienced team manager and leader. He is also the co-host of the Shared Security Podcast; and a frequent speaker at security user groups and international cybersecurity conferences.
