Nobody Understands Me: Better Executive Metrics - (BSides Nashville 2015) (Hacking Illustrated Series InfoSec Tutorial Videos)

Nobody Understands Me: Better Executive Metrics

Michael St. Vincent

BSides Nashville 2015

As a maturing field, information security has a growing number of strong technical practitioners with a very small number successfully transitioning to speaking relevantly with executives on security as part of the overall business strategy. Just as strong CIOs have moved from talking in processors and routers, leaders in information security are bridging discussions of business risk and competitive landscapes with understandable metrics. During this session, some model metrics will be discussed taking typical "geek numbers" into CxO presentations by appropriate transformation and interpretation. Participations will be invited and challenged to raise questions for additional executive metric models.
