Organizational concern over information security issues continues to rise in nearly all industries. This concern is providing security professionals unprecedented visibility at the executive and board level, yet many of us are ill prepared for the opportunity. This talk will share communications principles, success stories and lessons learned over the past 4 years while building a strong relationship with leadership of a Fortune 500 company.

Jim Beechey is the Director, Information Security at Consumers Energy. He holds a bachelors degree in Computer Science from Northwood University, a masters degree in Information Security Engineering from the SANS institute and several industry certifications. Jim is active in the security community participating on Governor Snyder's Cyber Security Advisory Committee, the 20 Critical Controls Advisory Panel and Michigan Cyber Range Advisory Board. Jim lives in Chelsea with his wife Tammy and their four children.
