In today,s market, it,s easy to find a vendor willing to help build a medium to large enterprise network for a price. Typically, these options are well outside the reach of the small office or a home network. Furthermore, wrapping monitoring and other services into the network becomes tedious and cumbersome. In this presentation, we will provide a basic budget, set of hardware, and infrastructure to help those interested,in building their own small network based on PFsense, Mikrotik, and integrate open source tools for monitoring. Zac is a security researcher from The Woodlands, Texas holding a BS from the University of Oklahoma. His experience include pen-testing, drone research, and commercial piloting. Currently he focuses his time on detecting bad things for a large organization. Andrew is a Rice Computer Science undergraduate student and security researcher. Recently he has implemented security bugs in Java,s Cryptography Library as part of his research. In the past, Andrew has been responsible for printed circuit board design and LabView programming for projects involving analog signal processing and serial I/O. Adam is a security hacker, who is pursuing his PhD in Computer Science under the supervision of Dr. Dan Wallach at Rice University. In the past, Adam has been responsible for build internal security testing standards and guidelines, developing tools, and executing security assessments that include software code reviews, penetration testing, and security architecture reviews.
