Abstract:Account compromises have unfortunately become a more common occurrence.
Password re-use is bad for your security hygiene but it’s a habit that
we’ve struggled to break free from. In this talk, I present an alternate
strategy to strengthen a user’s security posture. We will discuss the
concept and benefits of a disposable identity. This is not cure but
another idea to make the attack vector more difficult to spread beyond
the single compromise. Bio:Daniel Reich is currently focused on cloud security as a business development
manager within EMC. He began his career in the mid 90's peddling firewalls
at a time when they were delivered on tape. Daniel has had a wide variety of
roles in his career. He co-founded a profitable managed security services
company, managed the information security for a financial firm and also
ran engineering teams at a security software vendor. In his spare time, he
likes to tinker around with all the cool tools everyone else is developing.
