Joshua Spence was named Chief Information Security Officer for the State of West Virginia, Office of Technology, in March 2015. He holds expertise in cybersecurity strategy, risk management, certification & accreditation, cryptography and incident response. Prior to his appointment as CISO, Spence served as the Cybersecurity Manager for the West Virginia Air National Guard, 130th Airlift Wing. During his tenure, the organization excelled at all Department of the Air Force cybersecurity audits. Spence has also participated as an evaluator and red team member in multiple National Guard cyber-incident response exercises.
