Many organizations fail to properly fund their security initiatives and see everything we do as a cost center. As many companies are moving towards "digital transformations" we as security professionals have an ability to engage the business and help them drive real business value aka make them more money. This talk will focus on the soft skills we can utilize to work with the business to gain funding for our initiatives and enable the businesses strategic objectives. Covering how to identify and work with stakeholders to craft a vision and roadmap letting them sell your case for why they need a better security program to make the company more successful

Matt Topper got his start in IAM in the late 90s leading implementations for the auto industry,s largest SaaS BI system before SaaS was a thing. Struggling to manage thousands of users across the globe through the traditional form based sign up process, Matt began looking into federation solutions to reduce the management burden and push it back to the clients. From that point on he was hooked on the industry. Spending nearly 10 years developing IAM solutions for the US Intelligence Community, Matt now leads a dedicated group of IAM professionals solving customer problems all over the world.
