Mobile devices and you.
Detective Jeremy M. Thompson
SecureWV/Hack3rcon 2018

Mobile devices are always with you like the old saying from American Express “don’t leave home without it”, because no one does anymore. Usually anywhere you go your phone or another device whether it be a tablet or iPad are always with you. We will discuss the tools that we use to obtain data from mobile devices and how we use that data to solve crimes.

Detective Thompson has seventeen years of law enforcement experience having started his career with the Boone County Sheriff’s Department and is currently employed by the South Charleston Police Department, where he is assigned to the Detective Bureau. Detective Thompson is a task force officer with the United States Secret Service Financial and Electronic Crimes Task Force, Pittsburgh Field office. Detective Thompson has attended the National Computer Forensics Institute for training in computer evidence recovery, mobile device examiner, and network intrusion. Detective Thompson obtained the Cellebrite Certified Logical Operator certification while attending NCFI.
